I’ve been planning my next trip over the last two weeks. Work is a bit slow at the moment so it is the perfect opportunity to go travelling for a bit. I decided on Thailand for a variety of reasons; it is inexpensive to travel to, it is full of history and heritage, the people are supposedly super friendly, its full of amazing architecture, and I absolutely love Thai food.
I happened to have enough aeroplan points to book an almost free round-trip flight to Bangkok, Thailand so I went ahead and booked it on December 7th, but that was just the start. I then had to plan it. I use Google My Maps and make an itinerary in Microsoft Word to plan my trip. As you can see below Google My Maps allows you to place everything on a map and also plan a route to see how long it will take you. You can even add notes such as how much a place costs, or the hours of operations. A plus is that you can even overlay it on regular Google Maps to get directions. I’ve been doing this for the last three years, and it definitely makes my travel experiences more efficient. I know some people don’t like to pre-plan too much, but I like to cram in as much as I can on my trips as I usually have a limited amount of time I can be somewhere so I like to make the most of it.
This trip I’m going to be visiting Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Kanchanburi, and Ko Samui. I’m going to try something a bit different this trip and focus on videography, as well as photography. I feel sometimes I can’t quite capture the whole scene with just photography alone, hence my urge to do videography. I have a brand new video stabilizing device called the DJI Osmo Mobile to work with my iPhone 7 Plus. I will be using it alongside my Canon M3 mirrorless camera to capture video and photos. I will upload photographs to my blogs, and have a link to my videos on Youtube upon returning from my trip.
Looking forward to sharing my trip with my followers. Merry Christmas and take care everyone!
